Srinagar (KNO) : In a first move if it's kind, Director General of Police S P Vaid Monday took to his Twitter handle to raise funds for the families of slain SPOs who died fighting militancy. "Our 499 SPOs laid down their lives fighting militancy.

My heartfelt appeal to the people of this country to come forward & help rehabilitate their families. Let’s stand up for those who gave their lives for our safety", the DGP wrote on micro blogging site. The funds are being operated by an apex committee of J&K Police known as Central Police Welfare Fund Committee with DGP as its chairman.
